The Client Experience

Wondering what to expect from your session? How to book? What happens next?

Take a look at the sections below and hopefully you’ll find the answers you’re looking for. If you still need more information, contact me and I’d be happy to help!

Before you book a session

Before you book a session, please take some time to look at my website, portfolio, blog, and/or Facebook page. Each photographer has their own unique style for shooting and editing their images and it’s important that you choose a photographer whose style is in line with what you want! If you have ideas for your session (style, pose, etc) and you’re not sure if they fit with what you’ve seen of my work, let’s chat about it in advance to make sure I can deliver a product you’ll love.

How to book a session

So you like what you’ve seen and are ready to book? Use the form on the contact me tab to answer some questions about the session you’re interested in booking. I’ll respond to your inquiry within 24-48 hours with available session dates. In order to finalize the booking process and reserve your session appointment on my calendar, a signed contract and $100 non-refundable retainer must be received. The remaining session fee balance is due before or at the time of your session.

If you are booking a posed newborn session, I recommend you do so while you are pregnant to ensure I can accommodate you while the baby is still under 2 weeks old. I’ll put your due date on my calendar to hold your spot and we’ll determine the exact session date as soon as baby arrives.

What to expect at your session

Upon booking a posed newborn session, I’ll send you a guide that includes lots of information about what to do before and what to expect at your session. For everyone else, keep reading!

I like to keep sessions as relaxed and fun as possible. I’ll do some posing, some guiding, and lots of shooting as your family interacts with one another. My goal is to help everyone feel as comfortable as possible so that we capture the best and most real you. This means some poses might not work, a baby might not want to stay still in a spot if they see something else more interesting to explore, and sometimes a kid will take a little longer to warm up to me and being in front of the camera. This is all OK! It’s all happened before and the best thing you can do is stay calm and positive and let me work with what’s presented to us. At the end of the session, I want you to have had an enjoyable experience and images you’ll love!

What to expect after your session

Shortly after your session, I’ll edit a few favorite images and post the sneak peeks to my Facebook page. You’re welcome to tag and share these photos! Within 2-3 weeks of the session date, all of your images will be delivered in an online gallery. The full-resolution jpgs can be downloaded directly from the gallery and additional prints and products can be purchased through my professional (and highly recommended!) lab. If you’re interested in a print size or product that is not included in the gallery site, please ask as I should be able to accommodate.
